In basketball, a dime is a pass that leads to a basket.
In slang, a dime is a compliment given meaning "a perfect ten".
We're dishing dimes to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community by providing inclusive, supportive and safer courts.

There is room for you here.
We invite all skill levels.
We value the heart of the game:
teamwork, spirit building and bringing community together.
We're creating courts full of Dimes.

HOW DO I SIGN UP AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
We operate as an organized drop in. Please RSVP for our next run via the "RSVP" links on our website. We encourage sign ups so we can account for numbers, give priority and balance out teams based on experience levels. You are also welcome to drop in spontaneously and play day of only if we have not hit our capacity and tickets are not marked sold out online. This is to give priority to those who have come first and ensure they get play time, so please sign up ahead of time! The cost to play is $10, which helps us cover future permits, equipment and running costs. We want everyone to play, so If this cost is a barrier for you, please reach out to us at hello@queerdimes.com.
If you are one of the dimes who donated to our start up GOFUNDME (we LOVE you) and you can join your first run for free. Please select the free ticket option at checkout and make sure your name matches the name you used when you donated. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us get here.
NOTICE: Please be advised that by entering our spaces you are agreeing to being photographed and/or filmed, and the resulting assets may be used for marketing or promotional purposes. Should you wish not to be photographed or recorded, please notify a Queer Dimes team member.
WHAT SKILL LEVEL DO I HAVE TO BE?
Show up as you are. We are here for those who have never stepped on a court, to those who have played extensively. We will balance our teams as much as possible to provide fun competition for everyone. New players are encouraged to review our Basketball 101 before attending. When we can, we will host skills clinics and run drills at our meet ups so we can all grow as players. Follow our Instagram to stay up to date on events.
We trust our more skilled players to hold responsibility for reading the room, including new ballers and tossing dimes their way so they have the opportunity to grow. The more shots you take, the more shots you'll make.
HOW ARE TEAMS DECIDED?
You will be asked your experience level upon RSVP checkout. After open warm up, we gather in a circle to go over space agreements, court rules and split into randomized teams based on experience levels in an attempt to create the most balanced games possible. We do not currently accept player pairing requests, but this means you're going to walk away with some new friends.
WHAT ARE THE COURT RULES?
See our Queer Dimes Court Rules and Space Agreements here.
WHAT DO I DO IF I HAVE EXPERIENCED CONFLICT OR WITNESSED A VIOLATION OF SPACE AGREEMENTS?
Please speak with a Queer Dimes team member or email conflictresolution@queerdimes.com. View our Conflict Resolution plan here
WHERE ARE RUNS HELD?
Run locations will vary through the year based on gym availability in Hamilton. Through the warmer seasons, we will play on some outdoor courts as well - stay tuned!
ARE YOU SEEKING SPONSORS?
We are in need of sponsors to assist us with funding our permits, equipment and running costs. We also accept in-kind sponsorships. Please contact email us at hello@queerdimes.com or contact us here if you can help.
CAN I BRING A SPECTATOR?
Yes! We welcome anyone interested to come sit on the sidelines and watch. They must check in at the door and abide by our Queer Dimes Space Agreements to help us keep our space safe and inviting for all. Please note we won't always have proper seating available and guests may only have the option to sit on the floor courtside.
HOW CAN MEDIA CONTACT QUEER DIMES BASKETBALL?
